Simplicity

I stepped away from the subject of my assignment today to make a photo for myself. I wish life was as simple as the pictures I'm always striving to make.

No Doubt

I'm not a big fan of shooting music concerts, but last night I photographed the band No Doubt and was totally blown away. It was such a great performance. Gwen Stafani has such a stage presence. I felt about as star stuck as some of the fans I was shooting.

Zebra Mussels

I did a story a few weeks back on Zebra Mussels which are an invasive species that have the potential for doing serious damage to a lake's ecosystem. The challenging part of this assignment was telling the story of these little critters without actually showing them (they're not the easiest thing to find). Anywho, I took the approach of trying to tell the story of those whom the Zebra Mussels would effect the most. Hopefully it sorta worked.

I was looking at old files on my computer and found this shot from 2003. I was a senior in high school when I took this photograph. Over the years it's been in my portfolio, out of my portfolio and back in again. I don't know why, but I still like it.

Face Lift

I finally figured out do some things with the old blog that I've been wanting to do for a while. Now all the pictures will be bigger, the new header looks better and hopefully the whole thing is just more pleasant.

Cats

I used to be allergic to cats.

It's kind of weird. While I was growing up I was fine. Then I went off to college and when I came back home from my freshman year and BAM, allergic. I mean REALLY allergic. Well, I've noticed lately that my allergies haven't been nearly as bad around them.

Today I went and photographed at the Humane Society for National Adopt a Cat Month. I was in a room with 30 cats for about an hour and sneezed once. Weird.
